| Biography: |
| This French DJ and producer adopted his alias from a secret agent character in the movie "Le Magnifique" (well-known in France). He began DJing as a teenager and soon formed The Mighty Bop with Alain Howith, then in 1993 they started Yellow Productions. In 1997 he went solo and then released the album "Paradise" in 1998. It's first single "Gym Tonic", which samples a Jane Fonda workout song, became a hit in France, but ran into legal trouble and wasn't properly released as a single until it was reworked. Around 2004 Bob Sinclar changed his musical style to a more mainstream commercial house sound. In 2005 "Love Generation" became his first number one for the American charts. "World, Hold On" was the top song of the year on Billboard's year-end dance club chart for 2006. Chris le Friant is a big fan of French disco pioneer Cerrone and has remixed or remade many of Cerrone's songs, "I Feel For You" being a prime example. Over the years Bob Sinclar has also been heavily involved as a producer with the Africanism All Stars project. |
