| Chanel went to college in Florida at the Dillard School of the Performing Arts and later Bethune-Cookman College, where she earned a bachelors degree in mass communications. She was a member of several choir groups. Her demo/promo "My Life" became a hit at Smooth FM (formerly Jazz FM) and grabbed the attention of OneTwo Records. Her sound has been influenced by Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Sade, and Beyonce. | |||||||||||||||
